Henry Browne

Pastor Henry Browne was born on September 17, 1960 in Liberia, West Africa. accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1974 while in high school. After graduating high school in 1976 Pastor Henry attended Cuttington University College for one year majoring in general science. That year marked the beginning of a fifteen-year wilderness experience during which he turned completely away from God and his Christian walk.

He graduated from the University of Liberia in 1983 with a BBA degree in Accounting. In June 1992 Pastor Henry walked through the doors of the Haywood Mission Chapel for the first time to attend a worship service. He walked up the aisle after the invitation was given and gave his like to the Lord. He also saw a beautiful young lady that morning for the first time, Ms. Al-Satta Bakana and they were married three years later.

The Brownes had to flee Liberia in 1996 due to a bloody civil war that had been raging since 1990 but by then had remained largely away from the Capital Monrovia. They fled to the Ivory Coast where they settled in Danane. There the family worshiped at the New Generation Pentecostal Deliverance Ministries while Pastor Henry also enrolled in the Charismatic International School of Ministry. It was at New Generation that Pastor Henry got called into ministry, first as Deacon and then as Pastor. He had previously served as Chairman of the Administrative Board at the Haywood Chapel. When he moved the family to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Pastor Henry again served as Associate Pastor at the Greater Refuge Tabernacle Ministries.

The family was blessed to travel to the United States, arriving on October 16, 1999. Pastor Henry was again called to serve as Assistant Pastor at the PrayerWatch Christian Center in Kennewick where the family settled. Pastor Henry has been employed by the Washington State Department of Corrections since February 2000; starting in Yakima and then transferring to Airway Heights in 2001. The family has called New Hope home since August 2001 and pastor Henry has been privileged to serve almost that entire time in various ministry capacities. The family has now grown to six children and four grandchildren.

Henry became a pastor at New Hope in 2005
