– Acts 2:42 (NIV)

Being Prepared

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. – 1 Timothy 1:17 (NIV)
“You shall have no other gods before me.” – Exodus 20:3 (NIV)

It’s a commandment.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” – Genesis 1:26 (NIV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. – John 1:1-4 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, – Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. – John 15:26 (NIV)

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. – Isaiah 59:2 (NIV)
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. – 1 Corinthians 15:22 (NIV)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, – Romans 3:23 (NIV)
For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. – Leviticus 17:11 (NIV)

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, – Romans 8:3 (NIV)

Blood had to be spilled in order to make atonement, therefore He had to be of flesh, blood and bones in order to be received as a perfect sacrifice. If He had not been a real person then no blood would have been spilled and we would still be guilty under the law and we would still be required to make the payment.

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. – 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV)

This is essential because if Jesus had sinned then he would’ve been no better then the animals that were sacrificed over and over.

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. – 1 Corinthians 15:14 (NIV)

Again This is essential because if Jesus had not been resurrected he would’ve been no different then the animals sacrificed, our faith would be feudal, we would still be in our sins and be required to make the payments.

This is essential because we can not earn our salvation.

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, – Hebrews 9:27 (NIV)

This is essential because if you go thinking into your death that you’ll have another chance, you are sorely mistaken. Several people tend to believe there is a holding tank for all the good they’ve done that will help them get out of trouble after they die.(wrong)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, – 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
